159th Lunchtime Concert “Refreshing Summer Days”

The Nippon Foundation will host its 159th Lunchtime Concert on Wednesday, 11th August from 12:10 until 12:50 PM, featuring the talented young pianist Fuyuko Nakamura.
The theme of her concert is “Refreshing Summer Days.”
Her musical program includes:
- Mozart: Piano Sonata No. 2 in F major K.280
- Mozart: from Paisiello's opera "Wannabe Philosopher" in Six Variations in F major K.398
- Schubert: Mass S.564
- Schubert: The Water Mill Shop S.565-2
- Mendelssohn: Fantasy, F-sharp minor Sonata "Scotland" Op.28

Profile --
Nakamura was born in 1993 and started playing the piano at the age of 6.
By 2006 she had made her sixth appearance at the Japan Piano Education Alliance Concert.
In 2007 she won second prize at the 4th Yasuko Fukuda Competition.
In 2008 she competed in the Asian International Chopin Piano Competition, winning a silver medal in her group, and followed up by winning a gold medal in 2010.
She was a finalist in the 2008 Taipei International Chopin Competition.
In 2009 she won 2nd prize at the Japan Mozart Music Competition
Nakamura was selected to attend the 7th Russian Piano School in Tokyo in 2009 based on excellence in concert performances.
She has attended the Showa Music University Piano Academy under the tutelage of Seiko Otomo
Presently she is a 3rd year student at Toyo Eiwa High School for Young Women.
Ms Nakamura is looking forward to spending a pleasant time with the audience at the concert on 11 August, she says. She feels that the combination of Mozart, Schubert, and Mendelssohn will give everyone an enjoyable summer day experience.
The venue for the free lunchtime concerts is The Nippon Foundation’s main lobby. There is no need to make reservations, but it is a good idea to get there early in order to get a good seat. You are welcome to bring a box lunch or sandwich to enjoy with the music.
Please note that musical selections may change occasionally. It is also higher recommended that you come to the venue by metro or other public transportation because parking can be difficult.
The Nippon Foundation Lunchtime Concert location is at 1-2-2 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The closest metro stops are Tameike-sanno on the Nanboku Line and Kokkaigijidomae on the Marunochi Line.
