November 12, 2003--Almost daily, we receive queries about obtaining
scholarship funding from The Nippon Foundation. While we do not
have such a program of our own, we do support funding programs
through several different organizations. Those that we support are
listed below. Please peruse them to see if there is a scholarship
or fellowship that fits you.

The Nippon Foundation Fellowships for Asian Public Intellectuals

Purpose:
To build a network of public intellectuals in Asia

Who May Apply:
People in participating countries who are actively
working to improve society

Purpose:
To enable disadvantaged students in Bangladesh to pursue
higher education

Who May Apply:
The brightest students of Bangladesh who do not have the
resouces to attend college

The Sasakawa International Scholarship Fund (at Galludet University)

Purpose:
To aid the hearing impaired from developing countries in

equivalent certification and have professional

Scholarship Program for Central Asian University Students in Turkey

Environment Foundation of Turkey
Purpose:
To provide scholarships for students from the six Central
Asian Countries of at the Universities of Turkey
Length:
Full, 3 year program
Who May Apply:
People from the Central Asian countries of Azerbaijan,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and
Uzbekistan who are already studying at the graduate
level at the Universities of Turkey and who have
exhibited scholarly ability that makes them stand out
among their peers.
