The Nippon Foundation has been in existence for more than 40 years.
During that time, we have supported thousands of projects, ranging
from a complete nautical survey of the Malacca Straits to the
provision of free treatment for all leprosy patients in the world
to the support of local volunteer groups around Japan. Many of
these projects have produced publications of one sort or another,
including books, videos and serialized newsletters.

To ensure that the projects we have supported have the greatest
possible effect, we have undertaken a massive effort--digitizing
of all of this data, and creating of an internet library to house
it in.

While we have yet to upload many of these works, to date we have
already posted more than 900,000 A4-size pages of text.

Since we are a Japan-based organization, a majority of the
publications are in Japanese. However, our efforts reach countries
around the world and have resulted in a large number of works in
English or other languages.

For this reason, we include an English search engine in our
library. We do this to facilitate easy access of the material for
those whose browsers or linguistic capabilities do not include
Japanese characters.

The link below leads to a short explaination of how to use this search engine.
