"South states are not free of leprosy"

Chennai: Leprosy has been eliminated from the four south Indian
states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala, said
health experts at a two-day meet here on Sunday. This is a
"remarkable success story," said World Health Organisation
goodwill ambassador for leprosy elimination and Nippon Foundation
president Yohei Sasakawa who inaugurated the conference. The meet
has been organized by three NGOs working in the field of leprosy
eradication. (IANS)
