API Fellowships: Application Deadline--August 31

August 31 is the deadline for applications for The Nippon Foundation Fellowships for Asian Public Intellectuals' 2010 program.
Public Intellectuals are those with moral authority, such as academics, researchers, media professionals, artists, creative writers, NGO activists, social workers and public servants, who are committed to using their professional knowledge, wisdom and experience for the betterment of society by applying their.
The Nippon Foundation Fellowships for Asian Public Intellectuals (API Fellowships Program) has been designed to stimulate the creation of a pool of such intellectuals in the region. It is envisioned that this will promote mutual learning among these people, thereby contributing to the growth of public spaces in which effective responses to regional needs can be generated.
Themes for project proposals are:
1. Changing Identities and their Social, Historical, and Cultural Contexts
2. Reflections on the Human Condition and the Search for Social Justice
3. Globalization: Structures, Processes, and Alternatives
