The Nippon Foundation, as a grant-making organization, relies on the strength of non-governmental and non-profit organizations to impart as broad and as positive an influence on the world as possible. For this work, while it does proactively seek out or establish groups to drive forward such efforts as its anti-leprosy campaign, it also is extremely open to new programs that NGOs bring to it.

For groups based outside of Japan, we continue to accept applications year round for grants to conduct humanitarian work.

Japan-based groups however, are requested to submit their applications this year between October 1st and 30th. Applications must be made in Japanese, and sent to the appropriate department.

A brief perusal of the lists of fields we support is a good place to start. Following this, it is suggested that prospective applicants visit the application section on the Japanese site to download application forms and other necessary documents. This particular application drive is open only to Japan-based organizations. Internationally-based organizations are encouraged, as always, to submit applications as per the information listed at the international application links above.
