New “Leprosy in Our Time” Facebook Page
The Nippon Foundation has launched a new Facebook page, “Leprosy in Our Time: Medical and Social Challenges.” Many people think that leprosy no longer exists. In fact, the disease is still very much with us—and so is the discrimination against its victims. The new Facebook page will share information, news, photos, and messages about leprosy (also known as Hansen’s disease). Tackling leprosy and overcoming the stigmas attached to it require greater awareness and understanding on the part of everyone.
