Emerging Women Entrepreneurs ForumSeeking Out “How Businesses Should Operate Going Forward” with Women Entrepreneurs from Africa, Central America, and Asia

Date & Time: September 28, 2015 (Monday) 17:30 – 20:30 (Doors open from 17:00) Location: Shibuya Hikarie, 8F Court (Shibuya 2-21-1, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)

The Nippon Foundation and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will jointly hold an Emerging Women Entrepreneurs Forum on September 28 at Shibuya Hikarie. The forum will feature women entrepreneurs from around the world, and will consider “how businesses should operate going forward.”

The forum will bring together women entrepreneurs from Africa (Ethiopia, Cameroon), Central America (El Salvador, Costa Rica), and Asia (Myanmar, Vietnam), who will discuss their experiences and the issues they face, in a panel discussion that will also address themes common to women entrepreneurs in Japan. The panel will also explore possibilities for cooperation between Japanese companies and women entrepreneurs in their respective regions.

The forum will seek out “how businesses should operate going forward” from a woman’s perspective, with women entrepreneurs who, against a backdrop of rapid economic growth, incorporate a feminine aspect as they build businesses within existing cultural frameworks.

Shibuya is an international city that is home to many entrepreneurs, and to support these entrepreneurs and the forum’s objectives, the venue is being provided free of charge by Tokyu Corporation.
