Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) 15th Anniversary

Congratulations on the 15th anniversary of S-ILF. Normally I would travel to New Delhi, but regretfully the COVID-19 pandemic makes this impossible. However, I am with you there in spirit.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the truly wonderful work taking place under Chairman Tarun Das. Last year, a new structure was put in place as we welcomed Dr. Vivek Lal. I am very happy to see that under Chairman Das, and with CEO Lal leading the way, the new S-ILF is on the verge of greater growth, thanks to the excellent strategy being pursued by all members of staff and the board.

I believe that problems and their solutions are found in the field. This is also my philosophy of action. I hear that Dr. Lal is gathering information from the field and taking appropriate measures. Nevertheless, as we know, the lives of persons affected by leprosy are difficult, especially for those in the colonies. I know that Chairman Das, the board members and I all share the desire to help as many people as possible and ensure children get a satisfactory education.  

Let’s work hard together so that their circumstances improve and children are properly educated. And let me say how happy I am to be able to work with you as a member of S-ILF as the end of my life draws closer. Once again, congratulations again on your 15th anniversary. I hope to see and talk with you all soon.
