Response to January 1 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and Request for Donations

The Nippon Foundation would like to extend its deepest condolences to all who have been affected by the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck Japan’s Noto Peninsula and nearby areas on January 1, 2024, and their families.

We are working to provide swift support as needed to areas that have been damaged, including emergency support to people in affected areas and support for the activities of NGOs involved in the relief effort.

We are also asking for donations to the Special Fund for Disaster Preparedness(external site) to support this effort.

The entire amount of donations received will go to relief efforts; donations will not be used for the Foundation’s administrative expenses. We ask for your support.
(In the event all donations received cannot be used in light of the extent of damage and relief situation, those donations will be used by the Fund to support prompt relief activities when future disasters strike.)

Please direct any inquires regarding donations to the email address below, and note that some time may be required until we are able to reply.
