Donation Payment Methods

1. General information regarding donations

Donation frequency

One-time donations: These can be made by bank transfer, credit card payment, or in person at a convenience store in Japan.
Monthly donations: You can donate a designated amount each month. Monthly donations can only be made using a credit card.
Other payment methods are available depending on the particular project. For more details please go to the page for selecting a donation method.

Procedure for making a donation

When donating by bank transfer: The Nippon Foundation will issue a receipt after we confirm that your donation has been deposited into our account.
When donating by other methods: After you have followed the relevant procedures for payment, The Nippon Foundation will issue a receipt after we confirm that the donation has been deposited by the payment service provider into our account. Please note that the date appearing on the receipt will be the date the donation is deposited into The Nippon Foundation’s account.

Donation refunds

Please note that The Nippon Foundation cannot refund any donations it has received.

2. Donating by bank transfer

You can remit your donation to our account with MUFG Bank, Ltd., or (for certain projects only) to our Japan Post Bank Account.
Each of our projects has its own account number. You can find a particular project’s account number and details on its website.
If you need a receipt for your bank transfer donation, please enter the required information in the receipt request form on the page you use to make your donation. For more details, please see “Receipts.”

3. Donating by credit card

Procedure

After sending your credit card donation registration, you will receive an email confirmation from kifu@ps.nippon-foundation.or.jp.
Before sending your registration, please check your email settings to ensure that you can receive emails from this address.

Please enter the required information in the registration form when making your donation.
You will eceive an email to confirm that your credit card payment is being processed.
The Nippon Foundation will issue a receipt after we have confirmed that your donation has been deposited by the payment service provider into our account.

Please note the following

If you want to change the amount of your monthly donation, or if you wish to discontinue your monthly donations, please email us at kifu@ps.nippon-foundation.or.jp. Please include the following information in your email (to the extent possible).

  • Your name
  • Name of the project to which you made the donation
  • Payment method
  • Payment date
  • Your Order ID
  • The action you would like us to take (change donation amount, discontinue donations, etc.)

4. Paying at a convenience store in Japan

Procedure

After sending your donation registration, you will receive an email confirmation from system@p01.mul-pay.com.
Before you send your registration, please check your email settings to ensure that you can receive emails from this address.

Please enter the required information in the registration form.
After receiving the registration information, we will send you an email confirmation to the email address that you provided. This email will contain a number that you will need to make the payment at a convenience store.

Take the number provided in the confirmation email to a convenience store (in Japan) to complete the payment process.

The receipt date will not be the date that you made the payment – it will be the date the donation is deposited into The Nippon Foundation’s account. 
Please be aware that it can take up to roughly one month until a donation is deposited into our account.

Receipts
The Nippon Foundation will issue a receipt after we have confirmed that your donation has been deposited by the payment service provider into our account.

Please note the following

If you are planning to make your donation at a 7-Eleven store, the donation amount must be at least ¥200 and less than ¥300,000

If you have missed the payment deadline shown in the email confirmation or if you have lost the email confirmation, please re-enter the required information and send a new registration.

It can take up to two hours after sending your registration for your email confirmation to be sent. If you have not received the confirmation after roughly two hours, please check your spam email folder. If the confirmation is not in your spam folder, please contact us again.

5. Paying through a Japanese mobile phone carrier (docomo Mobile Payment, au Kantan Kessai, Softbank Matomete Shiharai)

Procedure

Please enter the required information in the registration form.
You will be transferred to the mobile phone carrier’s payment page. After logging in with your ID and password for your mobile phone carrier, follow the instructions on the screen. The payment will be finalized when you enter your security code.
The Nippon Foundation will issue a receipt after we have confirmed that the donation has been deposited into our account.

6. Other means of online payment

You can make your donation using an e-money payment service (via the WebMoney or Edy websites), or using LINE-Pay via its website.
