Receipts in general

Please enter the required information in the receipt request form

Donations to The Nippon Foundation are eligible for preferential (Japanese) tax treatment.
If you do not provide accurate information including your name and address, the receipt will not be valid and your donation will not be eligible for preferential tax treatment.
Please fill out the receipt request form correctly.

Digital receipts since 2018

Although the Japanese government has approved the issuing of digital receipts since 2018, The Nippon Foundation is still in the process of preparing for this change.
We will therefore be issuing paper-based receipts until our systems are ready, and we ask for your understanding.

Donations by bank account (including Japan Post Bank)  transfer

Timing of receipt issuance

Please note that it will take roughly three weeks from the transfer date until we are able to send a receipt.
Please contact us as shown below if you require the receipt urgently, and provide us with your name, the name of the project to which you donated, and the date of your donation.

Donations by credit card

Receipt date

The date on the receipt will not be the date that you made the donation using your credit card – it will be the date that the donation is deposited by the payment service provider into The Nippon Foundation’s account. In general, The Nippon Foundation will receive funds processed by the 15th of each month on the last day of the same month, and on the 15th of the following month for funds processed on or after the 16th of each month. This means that it can take up to three weeks for your donation to reach The Nippon Foundation.

If you make a donation during December, there is a possibility the receipt will be dated the following year.
Please take these matters into account if you are planning to claim a tax deduction for your donation in your tax return.

Timing of receipt issuance

Please note that it will take roughly three weeks after The Nippon Foundation confirms that the donation has been deposited until the receipt is sent.

If you have chosen to make monthly donations, you will be sent a receipt in keeping with the option you selected under “Frequency of receipts” in the  section for requesting a receipt.

Donating by other payment methods
